The international street art festival Pilsen Busking Fest reveals the date and major news for this year. The 13th edition will take place from September 3 to 6, 2026. Due to the ongoing reconstruction of the Republic Square and the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew, the program is completely moving to the picturesque Pilsen park district. The center of all events will be Mlýnská strouha, where the main festival stage will be built. You can look forward to dozens of artists, a rich accompanying program and the return of favorite faces from past years.
Due to construction work in the historic center of the city, we had to sensitively reconstruct the entire festival map. However, the park district around the center of Pilsen has proven to be an ideal alternative that will offer a unique atmosphere. In addition to the main zone in Mlýnská strouha, several other specific locations will come alive with busking. The program will take place in Proluce, at the West Bohemian Museum, in the U Branky area, at Lokál pod divadlem and, for the first time, at the Memorial to the Victims of Communist Terror.
The four-day program promises a diverse showcase of live culture from around the world. You can look forward to top-notch music, modern circus, breathtaking acrobatics, dance and creative zones. There will be creative stands, workshops for the public and presentations by non-profit organizations. The evening program will traditionally culminate with popular jam sessions and the popular Silent DJ’s afterparty will also be included.
Our dramaturgical team has been working intensively on the festival program these weeks. We have the first confirmed names for you, who will bet on proven quality and audience successes from the past. Charismatic singer-songwriter Marie Tilšarová, energetic rapper from the USA AP Major with a brand new band, captivating ethno/world music project Nigunatica, breakdance champions Floor Legendz from Germany and virtuoso Latvian guitarist Reinis Jaunais will return to Pilsen. We will gradually introduce you to the complete program and other foreign stars in the coming weeks.
Entry to the festival remains traditionally voluntary, which is the basic idea of busking – the audience rewards the artists directly into the hat depending on how much they liked the performance. Street art (in English busking; an individual artist is a busker) is a term for any artistic performance – whether musical, theatrical or artistic – in public spaces associated with a reward from the public.
